Solstice Interiors is a full-service interior design firm based in San Diego, California, founded by Katie Betyar. From residential to boutique commercial spaces, Solstice Interiors works to curate spaces that are personal, inviting, and make you feel good.
Founder and principal, Katie Betyar (formerly Gebhardt), was born and raised in San Diego and is inspired by all-things California living. Katie’s approach to design is centered around mindfulness, and creating a space you look forward to spending time in. With the fast-paced nature of our day-to-day lives, our mission is to ease the design process and provide a space that encourages a slower way of living. We assist in all phases of a project from start to finish and create a specific approach to each project based on each clients needs, vision, and scope of work.
Katie’s projects have been featured in Domino, Lonny, Design Milk, Dezeen, The Venue Report, and more. Honored by San Diego Magazine as 2019 “Best Interior Design Firm,” Katie has worked on both commercial and residential projects all over the United States.
Katie currently lives in San Diego, CA where she enjoys soaking up all the sunshine and ocean air, reading, traveling, being outdoors, spending time with her family, friends, husband and two fur babies, Boss and Jefe.
Our Process
CONCEPTUAL
Where we really get to know your existing space or dream up your new, future space. This is where ideas flow and inspiration for overall vibe is developed.
DEVELOPMENT
Space planning: a deep dive on how your space can be laid out from a floor plan perspective.
DESIGN & DOCS
Materials, fixtures, finishes, and furniture selections throughout based on final layout. Drawings, elevations, 3D modeling, and documentation is provided.
GO-TIME
A full drawing and spec package is provided per all final selections made. Construction oversight, project management, and purchasing throughout completion.
