Our Top Art Picks

How’s everyone doing out there? Do you feel you’re starting to adjust to this new way of being, or are you dying to get back out there to the old ‘normal’? I have mixed feelings about this personally, but I’ve been thinking a lot about how we perceive this time and pandemic in general. My heart goes out to all of those who have lost a loved one to COVID, the businesses that have had to close, and the really heavy state we’re all in - BUT trying to spread some light here - I really feel we will all look back on this time and be grateful for this reset. This time to rest, reassess what matters most, and get real about what we actually need. I’ll leave it at that - as restrictions start to ease up I hope everyone is still keeping safe and continuing to respect social distancing, wearing a mask, and washing your dang hands.

On to simpler and lighter topics, this week we’re highlighting a very important component to ALL interior spaces: artwork. I have to say art is a really tricky one for me as it is SO personal and subjective. For the most part in my experience I’m helping clients select from their existing pieces and determining placement, so when I get a chance to source and select art it is always such a treat. This is heavily influenced by so many factors outside of my personal style - the specific client, their interests, their style, their lifestyle, their history - the list goes on! Art breathes life into a space, tells a story, and gives you a glimpse into the people behind the space you’re in. We’re looking back on some of our favorite pieces in past projects below, and linking to some of our current top picks so you can add a new piece to that blank wall you’ve been staring at everyday.
