I hope everyone is surviving the summer heat, taking care of yourselves, washing your hands, wearing a mask, taking your dog on ten walks a day… you know, the usual. This week on the blog we’re highlighting some extremely talented Black artists and makers that you need to follow. Like ASAP. One big thing I’ve loved seeing in the last month in the design industry: SO many BIPOC owned businesses, makers, artists, and designers being highlighted. The design industry is yet another predominantly white industry - so how can we start to make some micro-level changes to make a bigger difference? Start looking at where you purchase from - art, decor, lighting, fabric… everything! I am taking a deeper look at this myself and really devoted to making that change in my business and outside of my business.
